Animal Personality: Maya is a sweet girl who will melt your heart with her eyes. Her foster mom thinks she resembles Puss n' Boots from Shrek, when he would try to use his eyes to mesmerize someone!!! She is also very playful. She loves toy mice and will pick them up by the tail to throw around and chase them. She also loves to rub up against you to get your attention, and will purr and purr while you are petting her. Maya would be fine as an only cat. She needs a quiet home where someone will give her tons of love and attention and she will surely give it back. Maya is extra special because she is shy with strangers. It takes a while to get to know her, but she SHOWERS affection on the ones she loves! Maya is litterbox trained and FIV/FeLv negative.

Animal History: She was surrendered to the shelter as a very pregnant kitty. She had her three kittens 1 day later and then was taken into a loving foster home so she and her kittens could find a new home.
Special Needs: Maya needs a true cat person, an adopter that understands that even the most affectionate cats can take a while to get used to new environments. Maya is a lovely girl with her favorite people in her favorite place, and you could be that favorite person just by giving her the time she needs to get used to a new home. We felt that Maya was in need of this special promotion because she is traumatized by trips to the pet store and cannot go to adoption events.
