Animal Name: Mama Mia
IAR ID#: C-09-369
DOB: 2009-08-20 (12 months old)
Gender: Female
Animal Breed: Domestic Shorthair
Color and Coat/Fur Type: All black coat with stunning yellow eyes! She's smaller framed (6-7 lbs.) and may have a bit of Siamese mixed in based on her face and tail. She's also got a coarser coat than her babies.
Animal Personality: Mama Mia (or Mia as she was originally named) is a very sweet girl and the perfect mother. She takes some time to settle into a new situation and trust new people. She can get a little skittish and would do best in a calmer environment. However, once she's made herself at home, she begs for attention! Her favorite thing is to have her belly rubbed and she will willingly roll over to give you the chance to do so. She greets people when they come to see her and loves to lay in her foster mom's lap or beside her on the couch. She would be a good match for an older person.rnrnMia has been known to stalk/intimidate other cats and has even gone after the dog in her foster home. It is unsure whether this is just protective behavior or intolerance. I believe that she feels threatened by other animals and therefore should be the only one. However, she would do wonderfully if she went home with one of her kittens.
Dog Friendly: UnknownCat Friendly: NoKid Friendly: UnknownSpay/Neuter: Yes
Vaccinations: Current
Animal History: Mia came from Savannah, GA where her foster mom was working at the time. She was being fed by someone since she was a kitten, however that person never thought to give her any vet care. She got pregnant and was surrendered to the veterinary hospital where her foster mom offered to take her and raise her babies.
Special:
Did You Know: Cats are living longer than they used to, nearly twice as long as they did in 1930.
