All About Me

Gorgeous, unusual calico/tabby hybrid. Dolly Lou has both stripes and spots. She's the best of both worlds! Her coat is the softest thing in the world, and she has a lovely cream colored chest, and tiny leopard spots on her tummy.

Good Golly, Miss Dolly! This kitten is every bit as sweet as she looks. She's been raised with other cats, a dog, and regular contact with children, and does well with all. She should do well in any home where she has a person who loves her and at least one kitty playmate. She also enjoys long naps in the sun, and spends her evenings curled up on her foster mother's chest on the sofa. When she's not snoozing, Dolly enjoys chasing balled up paper. She likes this even better than real cat toys. Although she started off the "runt" of her litter, Dolly quickly caught up, and keeps pace with her foster siblings in their very favorite game, "chase each other in a loop around the house." She's the only member of her litter who doesn't spend at least part of the day chasing her own tail, which makes us suspect that she's also the smart one.

History

Dolly has a backstory as unusual as her coat markings - she was found as a newborn kitten, all alone in a dog pen in someone's backyard in Durham. The dog owner called IAR. We suspect that Dolly's mother ran through the dog pen holding Dolly, saw the big dog, got so scared she dropped her kitten, and ran off. So Dolly was brought into IAR's care, and bottle fed, and raised with another litter of kittens (Orville and Wilbur) so that she wouldn't be alone.

Dolly would LOVE to be adopted with one or both of her foster brothers (Orville or Wilbur), or another kitten, because snuggling all day with her foster siblings is pretty much her favorite thing.
