Animal History: Sadie and 3 of her other IAR siblings are part of the infamous "Trash Heap Puppies" born in a dump in Hillsborough. Their former owners had let their beleaguered Mom give birth year after year to countless puppies that died or disappeared. Luckily an IAR volunteer living in the neighborhood got wind of the current batch of puppies living in the detritus of the back yard and was able to rescue several of them. We are so glad we can give them a decent life with our wonderful adopters.
Special: IAR views behavioral training as a critical aspect of helping our dogs adjust to their new homes. Jane Marshall of Cheery Dogs LLC donates behavioral support to help many of our dogs adjust to their foster homes, and all IAR dog adoptions come with a certificate good for a series of training classes with our training partner, Sunny Acres Pet Resort in Durham, NC.
