Physical Description: Irish Wolfhound is not shown as a breed, above, but that is what she most closely resembles. However, I feel sure she is a mix, and she is much smaller--right now only about 40lbs., and my guess is only 50lbs. once she is at a healthy weight.
Animal Personality: Very sweet and easy-going. No problems meeting our other dogs, even though they were not initially welcoming. She was very patient with them and wagged and waited while they sniffed, etc. She is still friendly with them, but she will also let them know with one quick bark when she wants to be left alone. Likes to ride in the car. Working with her to teach what is appropriate to chew! Loves belly rubs, energetic, romps around the yard, plays with the other dogs, and is not bad on a leash (a little room to improve here). Housebroken and knows "sit."

Animal History: Was found on Highway 70 near Durham on 7/13/10, hungry, thin, and recently separated from puppies (lactating). We could not find the puppies. No collar or microchip.
Health Information: Heartworm positive. Has had rabies shot and deworming (intestinal). She will soon be spayed and undergo treatment for heartworm (pending vet appointment).
