Gender: Male
Animal Weight: 41 lbs.
Dog Breed(s): Pit Bull Terrier / Pointer Mix
Physical Description:
Animal Personality: Jay is a playful cuddlebug. He loves playing fetch and will do anything for a good game of tug. He enthusiastically brings toys to us and tries to put them in our hands or even put them in our other dog's mouth to get someone to play with him. It's pretty adorable.
Jay is a sweetheart with children, men and women and dogs. He loves laying next to your feet and just being petted and sweet-talked! He does great at the dogpark! He is playful and takes other dogs' cues well.
Jay is an appropriately protective dog. He barks if an unknown person comes to the door or enters the house without us opening the door. I like having him around when I'm home alone!
Jay is making great progress in training as he is socially motivated and works hard for treats and praise. He was a very quick study and got housetrained in just over one week! He aims to please and clearly understands when he's done something he shouldn't do again! He can also sit and respond to his name and we are working on "stay" and "come".
Jay also quickly learned how to play fetch nicely and will return with the ball, drop it and sit while excitedly wagging and waiting for the next throw! Such manners! He is a great running and hiking buddy and behaves best when he has activity in his day!
