Animal Name: Ernie
IAR ID#: D-14-011
DOB: 2012-11-01 (2 year old)
Animal Weight: 46 lbs.
Dog Breed(s): Pit Bull Terrier / Boxer Mix
Physical Description: Lean, beautiful in shape and color, Ernie is a strong muscular dog.
Animal Personality: Ernie is a loving and joyful presence in our home. He is super house-trained - never had an accident. Recently Ernie graduated from Jane Marshall's Advanced K-9 Manners Class with flying colors. He loves going to class and learning new skills.
Ernie has never chewed shoes, socks or furniture in fact, he's not much of a chewer for rawhides either. Ernie likes soft toys and playing with a rope toy if another dog is up for it. He is very calm in the house and has made huge progress in walking calmly on a leash. He loves his walks and does great at the dog park with both small and large dogs, loves to run, chase and wrestle when with other enthusiastic dogs.
Ernie currently lives with 4 cats. Cats that stand up to him, he respects and backs down. Cats that tease him to play (we have one) he plays with. Cats that run from him, he wants to chase in play and would need consistent boundaries around shy cats.
Ernie would do well in a family with another grounded energetic dog. Ernie would also do well as an only dog with a devoted human who works from home or has extended time at home. Erine loves to snuggle with you if you invite him and sleeps on his own bed in our bedroom.
