Please give these wonderful animals a chance! The animals listed below are not a part of or associated with Independent Animal Rescue (IAR), including IAR's adoption and/or fostering programs. The information listed for each animal was provided by individual caregivers and was not generated or verified by IAR. IAR makes no representations related to these animals. As with all adoptions, IAR encourages potential adopters to gain as much information as possible before adopting these animals, including but not limited to temperament testing, consultation with a trainer, and consultation with a veterinarian. As always, IAR encourages you to spay and neuter your pets.

Molly
- Animal Name: Molly
- Listing Date: 01/31/2012
- Date of Birth: approx. 2004. She was about 2 when I rescued her in 2006.
- Weight: 52 pounds
- Breed: Basset/Beagle mix
- Physical Description: tan and white coat, fit (walked daily for past 5 years with a healthy diet)
- Personality Description: Fun personality (loves her toys). Sweet, loving and happy, laid back at home and loving her daily walks and fenced in backyard. Molly has the sturdy body and charms of a basset at heart with a few beautiful traits of a beagle.

- Vaccinations: updated. Can provide excellent vet recommendation.
- Animal History: Owner has to move unexpectedly back to home country for medical reasons and following a divorce. Molly has been 'her baby' for the past five years, living with a couple and no other pets in house with fenced in backyard. Molly can be shy and anxious but has grown more confident since she was rescued in 2004. She is scared of kids and loud men. She likes cats and could get along with another dog, especially a beagle but not a poodle. (She was bullied by one in the past.) She is a homebody and is used to a lot of company (Mom worked part-time all these years). She can adjust to a new living situation and would love to find a gentle and patient new 'mom'.

Roxie
- Animal Name: Roxie

- Weight: 59 lbs
- Breed: Shepard mix
- Physical Description: Black with tan markings. Medium build.
- Personality Description: Roxie is a three year old Shepard mix that loves to play with her "sister" Camille. She and Camille were raised together and we would like for them to go to the same home. They adore running and playing together. Roxie is very sweet, house-trained, and friendly with everyone, including children. Both she and Camille would make wonderful companions for any household.

- Animal History: Roxie was an owner surrender to a high-kill shelter in VA due to financial problems. She was turned in with her "sister" Camille. We couldn't leave one behind so pulled both of them in hopes of finding a home for them quickly. They have been at the vet clinic since the beginning of December, and although they are cared for there, it isn't an ideal living situation for a long period of time. They have spent their whole lives together, were pulled from the shelter together, and are now looking to go to a loving home together. Please consider these sweet girls. They deserve a second chance at a wonderful, loving life!

Camille

- Physical Description: Brown/white with a slim build
- Personality Description: Camille is a great dog that was raised with Roxie (the Shepard mix in the photo with her). We do not want to seperate them, so they need to go to a home together. They absolutely adore one another. Camille is approximately 3 years old, housetrained, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. She would do wonderful in a home with children. She loves to play with her "sister" Roxie! When it's time to come out of their kennels for play time, which ever dog is out first, then runs to the kennel of her friend to make sure we don't forget about her, too! So sweet!

- Physical Description: brown with a white snout and paws; very fit
- Personality Description: loves to play, loves to be outside, extremely sweet and loving to people, tolerates other animals, kid friendly

- Vaccinations: unknown--but i can reasonably assume that he is up to date because even though his former owners dumped him on us they seemed to love him very much
- Animal History: my husband and i were considering fostering him for another family; after the trial period ended and we told them it would not work out instead of taking diego back they moved to florida and left him with us; he lived with them for 10 years, most of that time with children
