Please give these wonderful animals a chance! The animals listed below are not a part of or associated with Independent Animal Rescue (IAR), including IAR's adoption and/or fostering programs. The information listed for each animal was provided by individual caregivers and was not generated or verified by IAR. IAR makes no representations related to these animals. As with all adoptions, IAR encourages potential adopters to gain as much information as possible before adopting these animals, including but not limited to temperament testing, consultation with a trainer, and consultation with a veterinarian. As always, IAR encourages you to spay and neuter your pets.

Diesel
- Animal Name: Diesel

- Weight: 50 lbs
- Breed: Labrador Retriever
- Physical Description: Male black with gray around face.
- Personality Description: Gets along wonderfully with other dogs, as well as cats and people. Very energetic, even for his age! He loves to play.

- Vaccinations: Current on vaccines, heart worm negative and currently on Heartgard and Frontline Plus
- Animal History: Both of Diesel's owners have passed away. He was one of many who were rescued by them and given a great home. He bought a lot of joy into their lives and they loved him dearly! We made a promise to not send him to a shelter but to find him a loving home to live out the rest of his life. Unfortunately it has been difficult because of his age.

Snowflake

- Breed: Female domestic short haired cat
- Physical Description: All white cat.
- Personality Description: Enjoys being petted and talked to but does NOT like to be held. Occasionally, she will be a lap cat but on her own terms. She does NOT like to go outside but she does love to sunbathe in front of the window. She should probably NOT be in a home with dogs, cats, or children. She gets along well with the dogs she grew up with, but, does NOT get along with strange dogs. She had an awful experience with a strange dog years ago, which would up causing her to have surgery.

- Physical Description: Solid brownish/black short hair, muscular, good teeth
- Personality Description: Sweet, wary of strangers, plays well with other dogs, energetic,likes to cuddle during thunder storms, needs fenced in yard to run and bark during the day if no one is home.

- Vaccinations: rabies vaccine, bordetello vaccine, parvo/distemper vaccine, negative for heartworm and tickborne diseases-on heartgard and flea and tick prevention.
- Animal History: Leash stuck in my sidewalk after running through our neighborhood for 3 days. Unable to find owner. I fell in love, plays well with my dog. Unable to keep due to marital discord.

- Personality Description: Sammie has a very nice temperament and gets along well with the other dogs ar the foster home. He is good with all ages of people too. Crate trained and housebroken.

- Physical Description: Black and white.
- Personality Description: He is high energy and very happy; will make a great dog for a family that wants a dog with a lot of personality. Crate trained and housebroken-loves to retrieve tennis balls; gets along well with other dogs.

- Animal History: He came to rescue when his owner was evicted from her home and she did not want to take Bullet to an animal shelter-she had nowhere to live but her car but was determined not to take him to the shelter.

Eli & Lilly

- Weight: 45 lbs each
- Breed: Pit Bulls
- Physical Description: chestnut/tan short hair, tone and fit, medium build
- Personality Description: estnut/tan short hair, tone and fit, medium build Personality Description: Eli loves being part of the family! He takes a little while to warm up to people but after about 30 mins you have made a friend for life. He loves cuddling and giving kisses. He is very eager to please and wants nothing more than positive attention. He is house and crate trained and knows basic commands. He walks great on a leash. He and his sister as a pair form a pack and do not like to have another dog around, however, if they are separated I am sure he will enjoy the company of another companion. He loves cats and kids and wants them to love him just as much. Lilly is a goofball and loves being the center of attention. She is the best snugglebug! She has never met a stranger and instantaneously makes a best friend. Lilly is a little more curious and inquisitive than her brother, Eli. She explores and is more independent. She loves playing frisbee or playing catch or just playing tag with Eli in a fenced in yard. Lilly is also house and crate trained and knows basic commands. Lilly loves kids and cats and wants to play with everyone. Lilly would like to have another companion if she is not able to go with her brother.

- Animal History: Eli, and his sister Lilly, were adopted from Sandhill Beagle rescue when they were about 5 months old. Their parents were confiscated and both were destroyed. Eli and Lilly both went to formal training at Top Dog Academy in Greenville, NC where they also lived with 2 other dogs and 4 cats for 4 years. Since then, Eli and Lilly have had to move to a home where it is just the 2 of them and 2 different cats.
